About Honeybee Eats

After a Beach Trip that she had taken in the Summer of 2015, Sheila came home with an idea of what could be done with the food trailer that her daughter Julie just happened to have sitting in her driveway. She told her about a frozen treat that she had fallen in love with while she was on vacation called a "Snowball", A flavored Shaved Ice Concoction that had ice cream in the middle.
So, the mother/ daughter duo put their minds together with their own spin of the shaved Ice Treat and came up with over 20 different flavors but with a twist, adding different fruits and toppings to the creation.

What started out as an idea that her mother had pitched, quickly became a reality in the Spring of 2016. April 1st, 2016, Honeybee's was born, and opening day was set up in the Food Country parking lot. Business took off and everyone seemed to really enjoy the frozen sweet treat that was offered.
Two years go by, and they decided to add more than just sweet items to their menu, moving to a different location so that there were no limitations to their menu.
Fall of 2019, The decision was made to sell the food trailer so that they could go to bigger and better things. Taking a few months off to map out the next plan and to build a small diner beside their home in Laurel Bloomery, which opened in the Summer of 2020.
Then tragedy struck March 31st, 2021, when their home was lost to a fire, taking out part of their diner and forcing them to close.
After many months of rebuilding the diner, they opened in the Spring 2022, with a larger dining area and a whole new menu.

Realizing that it suited their clientele better to be mobile, they made the decision to close and reopen as a catering based business.

In 2023 another amazing idea came to fruition when they purchased the equipment to freeze dry treats!

That is when the retail life of Honeybee bloomed, offering retail items to local stores within mountain city and beyond!

Honeybee will always have a big cuisine at heart, and will continue to offer that talent in the way of catering, but bringing sweet treats to every open hand possible is our ultimate goal!
